American Airlines brought the Boeing 737 Max to Brazil, flying from Miami to Manaus on flights AA964 and AA1265. The company had previously used the Airbus A319 and the Boeing 737-800 NG. Now Manaus will receive the 737 MAX. Previously, the DF was also in the company's plans, where the 737 MAX would replace the Boeing 757-200 and 767-300, but this change has not yet occurred, since the route was suspended in early 2020.
Now, the company has plans to make international flights with the 737 MAX. The flights will focus on South America.
Other companies already use the 737 MAX in their connections with Brazil: Copa Airlines and Aerolineas Argentinas. Gol is the only national company that also operates the jet.
The plane has been carrying out this route since March 3rd. The reason for choosing this aircraft is justified by the fact that the 737 MAX offers greater capacity and flexibility on international medium-haul flights.
The company was already returning with its flights to Brazil gradually. In December, it had already announced the return of flights between Rio de Janeiro and Miami. There are also operations departing from Guarulhos (GRU) to Miami and Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), totaling 26 weekly flights.
“Brazil is a very important market for American and, therefore, we always want to provide the best experience for our passengers. With MAX, we will offer one of our best equipment for passengers on the route in Manaus and Miami. In addition, we renewed our aircraft safety and hygiene protocols and have the most modern air renewal equipment, such as HEPA filters, in order to offer customers more peace of mind ”, says American Airlines commercial director, Alexandre Cavacanti.
