Air France's AF226 flight, the Airbus A350, which left Paris (CDG), France, for New Delhi (DEL), India, was interrupted by a fight between a passenger and the plane's crew.

The incident, considered serious, meant that the plane had to land in an emergency in Bulgaria and occurred on the afternoon of March 5.

The passenger physically assaulted other passengers and then also assaulted a flight attendant. The reason for the fight was not clear.

The attacker, an Indian citizen, was removed from the plane for jeopardizing the safety of the flight. This man was indicted and faces a sentence of up to 10 years if he is convicted.

Air France operates four weekly flights on this route, lasting approximately 7 hours. The aircraft chosen for the service is the Airbus A350-900.
