A flight from the Lion Air division called Wings Air, based in Indonesia, would take place in its normal routine when an unusual situation happened.
The IW-1248 flight with 45 passengers and 4 crew members that was to take place on Sunday (March 7) had to be delayed. The reason? A 29-year-old male passenger simply opened the emergency exit just before takeoff.

The crew noticed the movement and immediately warned employees on the ground. The flight was aborted, passengers had to disembark and the aircraft, an ATR72 twin-engine, was sent for maintenance.
The boy was taken to the authorities to be questioned, the other passengers were relocated on another plane of the same model and the flight departed with a delay of 55 minutes.
In a note the company says: “Wings Air obliges all passengers to avoid actions that could disturb safety and comfort, either on the ground or during the flight. Undisciplined or disruptive passengers will face severe sanctions and legal consequences for their actions ”.
