The health crisis at Covid-19 has hit the world hard, but in particular the aviation sector. The sector has been gradually resuming its activity.
On March 10, Ulisses Correia e Silva, the prime minister of Cape Verde, stated that the return to operations of Cabo Verde Airlines "is very imminent". The company has had its operations suspended since March last year.

Cabo Verde Airlines is 49% owned by the Cape Verdean State and 51% by the Icelandic Loftleidir. Since 2009 the company is part of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Carlos Santos, minister of tourism and transport, announced that the shareholders of the airline, Loftleidir and the State, have reached an agreement to resume the company's operations. The announcement was made on February 26th.
