The American company SE Aeronautics, a sustainable air travel technology company, announced on March 17 a concept of a widebody commercial aircraft, 100% monocoque and with three pairs of wings, which would be a new generation of aircraft that intends to reduce the fuel consumption and carbon emissions by 70% and 80%, respectively. Thus, the company intends to bring sustainability, safety, comfort and operational cost.

The company calls the project SE200. It is a medium-sized aircraft, with up to 264 passengers and long range, being able to fly up to 13,000 km. Its three pairs of wings improve the aircraft's lift, as well as improving the ability to take off and land on small runways. The fuel is not stored in the wings, but in bags at the top of the fuselage and, if there is a need to land on water, the aircraft would also float.

There will also be a “one-way” ventilation and air supply system, which does not recirculate the air in the cabin, drastically reducing passenger exposure to airborne diseases, says the manufacturer.

“Aircraft manufacturers have been using the same aircraft design for the past 60 years, with few exceptions. Our innovative technology and new aircraft design will reduce fuel consumption by 70% and CO2 emissions by 80%, as measured per seat kilometer. The design is a more efficient tri-light wing configuration that greatly improves lift over drag, resulting in short take-off and landing capabilities (STOL) and extremely long flights. The construction is all composed, molded in a resistant and safer part. We also incorporate super thin, long wings and full nose to tail stretching, ”says Lloyd Weaver, chief engineer at SE Aeronautics.

The plane would have more than one aisle due to its wide body. It would have a very large passenger capacity, but it would not be as big in size because of its different characteristics. This wide design with three pairs of wings could face problems at airports, but the aircraft as a whole seems to be a good idea, since they are different ideas that change the world.
