Embraer is betting potential on the Asian market, especially the Chinese, which should consolidate itself as the largest in the world in the coming years. According to the CEO of the commercial jet division, a very large demand for jets of up to 150 seats will come by 2031. Much of that demand comes from the Asian market. Thus, large investments in the region will be made.

"With China's ambitions to expand to regional metropolises and neighboring Asian countries, we believe that giving Chinese airlines access to E2 offers great opportunities," said the CEO. This could bring success to the E-jet-E2 line.

Embraer needs to be close to its largest potential customers. For now, Embraer's biggest competitor in this segment should be COMAC.

However, the family of E2 jets, with jets with capacity between 100 and 146 passengers, will be able to complement the family of C919 jets from COMAC, which were created to compete above the market, with competitors such as A320neo and 737 MAX.

China was the epicenter of the coronavirus crisis, but it has already recovered, and the market is growing rapidly, while other places in the world, such as the United States and Europe, continue to face the problems of the covid-19. This would justify Embraer's investment in Asia.

Airbus, Embraer's main rival, also assesses the growth potential of the Chinese market.
