Ronei Glanzmann, secretary of civil aviation, said in an interview with JovemPan that Congonhas airport will carry out international flights from 2022. The airport is the second busiest in the country, second only to Guarulhos International Airport, also in São Paulo. Paulo.
Congonhas currently operates only on domestic flights, however, since the international wing was inaugurated in 1959, it operated international flights until 1985, when the Guarulhos airport, suitable for travel abroad, started operating.
The forecast is that the airport will be opened to operate international flights in 2022, before the entrance of a private administrator in the terminal, which should happen in 2023.
Still according to the National Secretary of Civil Aviation, international flights, however, should only occur in the business aviation market and the main destinations will be in South America.

Another change to receive international executive flights should take place at Santos Dumont Airport, in Rio de Janeiro.
