The Racer, an Airbus Helicopters innovation project, will be upgraded to a speed of more than 400 km / h, seeking the best combination of speed, performance, efficiency and cost. The new hybrid electrical system will be responsible for fuel economy, since one of the two engines may be switched off during the flight.

The Racer was presented at the Paris Air Show in 2017 and approved in 2019 and is currently in the assembly phase, in Germany, at the Airbus Helicopters facilities and will soon be transferred to France, where the final assembly phase will take place.
