The mission, dubbed Crew-2, is the second manned flight of a Crew Dragon and the third manned orbital flight. Endeavor was used, the same capsule used by Demo-2 and the same booster used by the Crew-1 mission, which represented savings for the NASA project.
The astronauts on board this mission are spacecraft commander Shane Kimbrough, pilot Megan McArthur, both Americans, and mission experts Akihiko Hoshide, from Japan, and Matthias Maurer, from Germany; all veterans.
