Aerolíneas Argentinas will once again suspend scheduled flights to Brazil between May and June because of the low demand caused by the pandemic and restrictions. Other suspended routes will be operations to Punta Cana, Cancún and Santa Cruz de la Sierra.

For Brazil, only chartered flights for repatriation of Argentine citizens from São Paulo continue to operate in just one weekly flight. The routes to Rio de Janeiro, on the other hand, will be completely suspended.

“Due to the restrictions caused by the pandemic and the health situation in our country and in some international destinations, we decided to adapt the flight schedule of Aerolíneas Argentinas abroad to the difficult situation we are experiencing,” said Pablo Ceriani, president of Aerolíneas Argentinas, in a tweet .

There will not be many passengers affected, as he said in another tweet: “Punta Cana and Cancún are two holiday destinations canceled from 16 May. There are no passengers with a flight started for these destinations. We are canceling from May 16th to August 31st. The number of reservations is very small, there are less than 300 passengers distributed in that period ”
