The Ingenuity helicopter made its fourth flight on Mars last Friday, April 30, after experiencing a technical failure that delayed the flight by one day. This time, the aircraft was able to travel further and at almost twice the speed compared to the last flight.

NASA faced difficulties in the development process of Ingenuity due to the circumstances of the atmosphere of Mars, which is different from Earth in that it is less dense.

However, all flights so far have been successful and the helicopter was able to capture aerial images of the red planet, as well as the Rover Perseverance. The first stage of the project is completed and consisted of making short flights on Mars. The next stage aims to demonstrate possible future flights of other aircraft.

The Rover Perseverance, which is the author of the Ingenuity images on Mars and is also responsible for monitoring seismic activities and collecting samples of the planet's soil, is also part of the Mars 2020 Mission, launched in July last year to assist exploration of the planet Red.
