According to data from the OAG consultancy, Brazil is occupying the fifth worst recovery in the aviation market, among the 20 largest in the world. In the first week of May, the country offered only 34.9% of seats compared to January of last year.

Behind Brazil are only Turkey, France, Italy and Germany.

China showed the best recovery, with the only positive variation in the comparison between January 2020 and May 2021, presenting a growth of 0.8%.

In the list of the best recoveries, followed by China, appear Russia, Iran, Vietnam, Mexico and the United States.

The worst placed showed an increase in the offer in the last week, like Brazil, which increased its offer in 8.8% in relation to the last week.

Such data place Brazil in tenth place in the list of main markets.

Overall, global aviation capacity has increased in the last week, despite being only 60% of what it was before the pandemic. Northeast Asia was the region closest to a full recovery. South America, North Africa and part of Europe and Asia still maintain their production levels at less than half compared to the period before the pandemic.
