The sixth generation Wi-Fi has features that bring more convenience to the user, for example, more connection speed and allowing more users to connect to the same network without congesting it.
Based on 802.11ax, an evolution of 802.11ac (fifth generation Wi-Fi), Wi-Fi 6 offers greater reliability, ultra-low latency and greater network efficiency.

The wireless broadband company Alliance has announced that Guarulhos airport (GRU) will have access to Wi-Fi 6 with OpenRoaming technology. The technology allows the user to access the network as if it were one, without the need to switch between networks if on the move. In this case, the connections are linked to each other so that the user always has automatic access to the router with the best signal.
However, the passenger network will be different from the network used by airport officials, which will have security enhanced by Samsung and Broadcom's Wi-Fi 6 processors.
OpenRoaming technology will be available to passengers who have compatible Samsung Galaxy devices, which were launched in 2019. Access, however, can be done with any Wi-Fi device, thanks to backward compatibility.
“GRU is the busiest airport in South America. With Wi-Fi 6, our passengers and operations staff now have reliable, continuous and secure connectivity to ensure a better travel experience.”, Said Gustavo Figueiredo, CEO of GRU Airport.
