At the Viracopos International Airport, in Campinas, the IRS intercepted a load of chocolates "stuffed" with cocaine that would be sent to Thailand. The drug was also found hidden in jewelry and porcelain decorations.
The load totaled 860 grams of cocaine. To camouflage the smell and to sniff out sniffer dogs, the shipment was packed with coffee.
The IRS also found about 100 grams of cocaine hidden in bags in another cargo bound for Australia.
Federal Police operations are carried out daily to interrupt drug trafficking attempts at Viracopos International Airport, which, being one of the country's main export points, is the most targeted for international drug trafficking.
