The United States Air Force recently conducted a test on F-15 fighters and F-35 stealthers, revealing how the F-15 fleet can work together with stealthers, paving the way for them and guiding a powerful air strike.

The tests were carried out on Friday, May 14, and the F-15's Eagle Alert and Survival Systems (EPAWSS) were used to reduce the F-35's electronic emissions, in order to amplify its stealth. This way, the fighter can get closer to its target.

"We are trying to find out how fourth and fifth generation platforms can benefit each other so that we can get closer to the opponent," said 422nd Test and Evaluation Squadron fighter pilot Scott Portue.

The EPAWSS is a system that aims to identify and track threats such as missiles, thus functioning as a system for self-protection, which can also be used to assist fourth and fifth generation fighters. The system is capable of recognizing and stopping threats, by collecting information on the electronic emissions of enemy weapons, and can be used by the F-15 to assist the F-35's attack. Thus, the “old acquaintance” F-15 will be able to cover the failures of the F-35.
