The Brazilian Air Force said on Wednesday, 26, that it will renegotiate the purchase of Embraer's KC-390s, due to the current crisis scenario caused by the pandemic.
"The Brazilian Air Force, maintaining its commitment to budgetary goals and in line with the current scenario, decided to review the paths to be followed in the continuation of the production contract for the KC-390 aircraft with Embraer (...)", he informs the FAB in a statement from the Air Force Command.
The initial plan was to buy 28 KC-390 aircraft, but a renegotiation will be necessary to reduce this number, also seeking to reduce the annual production rate, maintaining production on two aircraft per year. The desired new number of aircraft was not announced after the renegotiation.
