The Honda Aircraft Company announced last Wednesday (26) the HondaJet Elite S executive jet, an update of its well-known HondaJet Elite jet, launched in 2018.
The launch ceremony took place in a virtual way, but it was able to show the innovations that the jet brings in relation to its predecessor: an increase of 200 pounds in its maximum takeoff weight (MTOW), an ability to fly 120 nm more, consequently with more cargo or with one more passenger.

The business jet also has more features on the avionics side, such as the FAA DataComm and ACARS, which replace traditional voice commands with text messages, in order to improve communication efficiency in various situations. Another system equipped with the evião is the newly introduced Advanced Steering Augmentation System (ASAS), which, according to Honda, “reduces the pilot's workload and increases safety for missions in specific climatic conditions”.

“Since its launch in 2018, the HondaJet Elite has achieved the best performance in its class, while also being the most efficient, and with the new Elite S, we have taken another step forward in expanding the aircraft’s capacity,” said Michimasa Fujino, Honda Aircraft CEO.
The Honda Aircraft Company started delivering jets to customers in December 2015, and the HondaJet competes in the very light jet category, competing for space with Embraer's Phenom 100, Cessna's Citation M2 and Cirrus's Vision Jet. Currently, more than 170 aircraft are operated worldwide. In Brazil, Lider Aviação is the exclusive representative of the Honda Aircraft Company, and is also an Authorized Service Center to perform maintenance.
