The destination of Comandatuba was recently announced as a route by the Azul company. Its competitor, Latam, announced that it will start selling tickets to that destination as of today, the 2nd. Latam also announced another 10 new routes that will strengthen the company. The aim is to have an average of flights per day greater than 250 in Brazil in June and total 91 routes. It is worth remembering that the number of routes operated by the company has already reached 115, before the pandemic.
Although Comandatuba was already a destination served by the company before, it was only done on non-scheduled flights. The company is changing flights as the user profile changes as well, so that now the destination will be its 45th in Brazil.

The new destination will be departing from São Paulo (Congonhas) – Comandatuba, with 1 direct weekly flight from August 1st, operated with Airbus A320 aircraft, which accommodate 162 passengers in Economy and 8 in Premium Economy.
Latam has already had a slight recovery, as it is operating at 49% of its capacity, compared to before the pandemic. The number in April was 38%. The company is optimistic about a gradual recovery going forward.
“A few days ago we said that we plan to resume operating more than 90% of our capacity in Brazil by December this year. We are advancing in this direction. LATAM is very much in tune with the change in the passenger profile, which is already starting to leverage the resumption of the Brazilian airline industry. We will have more tourists visiting the Northeast and fewer business travelers on the Rio-São Paulo airlift”, says Diogo Elias, Sales and Marketing director at LATAM Airlines Brasil.
The new routes are:
• São Paulo/Congonhas – Fortaleza: there will be 14 direct flights per week from July 1st, operated with Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft, which accommodate 132 to 162 passengers in Economy and 8 in Premium Economy.
