On May 11, Embraer's E190-E2 received the certificate from Easa, the European Aviation Safety Agency, to operate at London City Airport in London. The authorization was only officially released on Thursday, June 3rd. The first generation E190 already had the certificate, however, due to the similarity of the cabin of the two aircraft, the pilots who already operated with the certificate on the E190 will not need further training.

The approach to landing at this airport is steep, with an angle of 5.5 degrees, a high value compared to other airports in Europe. This is because there are a series of operational restrictions, such as the need to reduce noise emissions, for example.

Aircraft operating in London City must respond to the requirements of the airport's steep approach and short runway, in addition to complying with regulations related to noise emissions. The requirements are similar to those at Santos Dumont airport, in Rio de Janeiro, where the E2 does not yet have , which helps to reduce noise pollution in the region.

London City Airport is one of the main airports in the region, as it is located in the financial center of London, in addition to connecting the city to international destinations in Europe and America, and also carrying out private aircraft operations for business aviation.
