China was one of the first countries to emerge from the health crisis caused by the coronavirus, so the aviation sector has been showing solid improvements for a few months. China's major domestic airlines reported positive year-on-year growth in May, albeit with a slight decline from last month.

On Tuesday, the 15th, China presented data that the number of passengers in May had an expressive increase of 113.1% compared to the previous year. After this year's Spring Festival and Dragon Boat Festival's three-day holidays, the results were encouraging as Chinese companies registered 3.71 million trips, up 40.1% per day over the same period. last year.

The CAAC (Chinese Civil Aviation Administration) said demand remained unchanged from last month, but was equivalent to 93.6% of the same period last year. This drop is due to the resurgence of covid 19 in some regions of the country, although the recovery still remains at a high level.

As in the rest of the world, cargo transport remains heated, as more operators have joined this type of transport, which in May increased 30% compared to the same period last year. Since the beginning of the pandemic, air cargo transport has played a very important role, especially in the transport of medicines and equipment around the world.

Data released in April by the International Air Transport Association showed that demand continued to exceed pre-COVID-19 levels, up 12%.
