Rossya Airlines to receive first MC-21 in 2022

According to the general director of the manufacturer Irkutsk and executive vice president of the Irkut Corporation, Alexander Veprev, the first MC-21 composite wing aircraft will be delivered in 2022. “We are preparing this aircraft for delivery in 2022, at the end of the year the vehicle will be transferred to the flight test center,” he told reporters on Wednesday 15.
A 17.5 meter long wing console was delivered in May to Irkutsk Aircraft Plant. The console is intended for MC-21-300 aircraft and is made of Russian composite materials.
Russian Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov said the composite-wing aircraft will go through the testing phase by the end of the year and production of the jet is expected to start in 2022.
The MC-21 will be a commercial aircraft with a narrow body, manufactured by Rostec, and which will have two types of engines, a PD-14 and the American Pratt
