Last Wednesday, the 17th, Ryanair received its first Boeing 737-8200 “Gamechanger” in Seattle. The aircraft flew to Dublin, where it landed this afternoon.

This is the first aircraft delivered, out of 210 ordered by Ryanair, which is making a high investment in technology by purchasing the 'revolutionary' Gamechangers.

The new aircraft will be able to carry up to 4% more passengers with 16% less fuel consumption per seat and a 40% reduction in noise and CO2 emissions.

Michael O'Leary, CEO of Ryanair, said in a statement: “We are delighted to receive our first new technology Gamechanger aircraft. These new Boeing 737 aircraft will help Ryanair reduce costs, reduce fuel consumption and reduce noise and CO2 emissions, as we invest heavily in new technologies to deepen our environmental commitment as the largest greenest and cleanest airline in the world. Europe. Each B737 aircraft offers 197 seats, compared to our current fleet of 737 with 189 seats. However, our customers will enjoy more legroom, new Boeing 'Sky Interiors' and lower fares, while reducing their environmental footprint when switching to these new aircraft. Due to regrettable delivery delays, we expect to receive delivery of only 12 of these aircraft during the summer of 2021, with 6 delivering in Ryanair colors and 6 in Malta Air colors. Ryanair expects to receive an additional 50 of these B737 Gamechanger aircraft before the summer 2022, which will allow the Ryanair Group to rebound strongly, offering new routes, lower fares and rapid traffic recovery to many partner airports across Europe as the tourism industry rebuilds under the devastating impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021”.
