This Friday, the 18th, a British Airways Boeing 787 suffered an incident with the retraction of its front landing gear and ended up with the bottom of its nose on the ground. The incident took place in London, in the courtyard of London Heathrow International Airport.
The aircraft in question is 8 years old, according to Airfleets, and its most recent flight was last Wednesday, the 16th, from Moscow to London, according to data from Radarbox.
British Airways said the crashed aircraft is currently adapted to act as a freighter. There are no further details about the causes of the incident or what the activity of the aircraft was at the time of the episode.
“A cargo aircraft was damaged while it was stationary. As it is an exclusive cargo aircraft, there were no passengers on board. Safety is always our top priority and we are looking into the case,” British Airways said.
