RedBull articulated a race between a Formula 1 car, the RB7, and an Extra 300 SR aircraft, promoting their film From Castle to Castle. The aircraft and the car fought a sprint on a runway at Poprad aerodrome in Slovakia.

The aircraft, piloted by Martin Sonka, world champion of the Red Bull Air Race, flew back over the car, piloted by former Red Bull Racing pilot David Coulthard, who has also raced for Williams and McLaren. The RB7 was also piloted in 2011 by Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber.

Sonka said: “We have a very limited view inside our cockpits and to fly at such a low and inverted level, I have to more or less look straight ahead to be able to control the plane's height. The driver (Coulthard) also has to look straight ahead, however, due to the head and neck restraints that Formula 1 drivers use, he cannot look up. We solved this problem by placing a small mirror in front of him so he could see me and look ahead.”

In addition to the race, the RB7 also ran on dirt, stone and asphalt tracks, passing castles in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Coulthard stated that “the best thing about this movie is that everything is real. When the aircraft is only a few meters above the RB7 and upside down, that's real, that's Martin's skill. He is an excellent professional”.
