TAP's management enters a new phase, says minister

Last Thursday, 24, a general meeting approved the new administration of TAP, led by Manuel Beja, and this is a “new phase” for the company, according to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing of Portugal.
The Ministry published a note stating that “with the holding of the general meeting of TAP SGPS, the airline has taken another decisive step on the path that we all hope will be its recovery. With the election of the new governing bodies, TAP will be led by a management team with a recognized curriculum in the sector, to whom the Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing wishes the greatest successes on the demanding path ahead. Its success will be the success of TAP and also the success of the national economy”. The note also states that “TAP will enter, with the decision on the restructuring plan by the European Commission, a new phase of its life and the Government counts on everyone to ensure that the next page of this history of our airline is full Of success".
The Ministry also states in the note that this is the time to “publicly recognize the dedication and the enormous quality work carried out by the outgoing administration, in particular by Ramiro Sequeira, who, as interim chairman of the Executive Committee, led the company's destinies. in a very tough period, leading the construction of the company's restructuring plan and the signing of emergency agreements with all TAP and Portugália unions”. Ramiro Sequeira will remain in the company's executive management as head of operations.
Also in the note, the Ministry thanked the non-executive employees who left TAP, especially Miguel Frasquilho, chairman of the Board of Directors, “who has always served TAP and the country in a loyal, tireless and dedicated manner”.
In the new management, Manuel Beja will succeed Miguel Frasquilho as chairman of the company's Board of Directors for the next four years 2021-2024, while Christine Ourmières-Widener will lead TAP's new Executive Committee.
