The LATAM maintenance center (or MRO – Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) will resume the modernization plan for existing aircraft. The modernization will be carried out in the cabins of the Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft.
The modernization plan had been stalled in March 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic. At that time, 29 aircraft had already undergone modernization at LATAM Brasil, and another 15 had already gone through the process at other companies in the group.

At least 30 aircraft of these models will undergo the process by LATAM Brasil. However, the group's initiative will cause another 44 aircraft of these same models belonging to other group companies to also undergo the process.
LATAM has hired 80 professionals so far, with the forecast of hiring another 100 who will be involved in this project. In total, the investment is around 400 million reais, the largest in the company's history, half of which in LATAM Brasil alone.
