In a post on LinkedIn, on 15/07, Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) said it had launched a tender for the sale of six of its Airbus A380s or its parts, confirming what was already expected: the retirement of this aircraft. model.

In 2018, Malaysia Airlines gave up on updating the interior of the A380s and was looking for interested parties in operating the plane, already showing signs that the aircraft's retirement was near.

Group MAG has undergone a restructuring since the beginning of this year. At that time, CEO Izham Ismail stated that MAG would seek to dispose of the Airbus A380 as the planes no longer fit what the company wanted.

Potential buyers of the A380 were invited to submit their bids by 12 August.
