Yesterday (26/07) was the day that Air France presented the new Airbus A220-300, a jet that should generate a fuel economy of 20%, with 34% less operating noise than previous generation aircraft . The company has a goal of reducing its CO2 emissions per passenger/kilometer by 50% by 2030, and the jet is expected to contribute to that. See the presentation video on the external link below.

The plane, which will arrive at the end of September, will be one of 60 that Air France has ordered to replace its A318 and A319. The aircraft must be scheduled to carry out the company's short and medium-haul flights.

The model is configured for up to 148 passengers in the 3-2 cabin configuration. Passengers will have USB-A and USB-C ports on the seats, as well as Wi-Fi on board.

The aircraft is having its final details finalized in Canada. The next step will be in Paris, where the crew will do ground and flight tests for 1 month, without passengers. Once these steps are completed, the plane will be able to proceed to its commercial flights.
