According to Airbus data released today, the first half of the year ended with net profits of 2.2 billion euros. The result reverses the picture observed in the first half of 2020, when the pandemic affected the manufacturer more strongly, between January and June, when losses of 1.9 billion euros were recorded in the company.

Profit rose significantly. The announcement made by the company shows that the profit for the semester increased 30%, to 24.6 billion euros. A slight 4% retreat in the defense sector was also registered, while the liquidity position was 33.7 billion euros.
“Although the COVID-19 pandemic continues, the various actions carried out by our teams provided a strong performance in the first half. This allows us to raise our forecasts to 2021, although we continue to face an unpredictable environment,” says Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury.
The positive financial results raised the company's confidence in the market, which made the company increase its expectations for this year, expecting to deliver around 600 aircraft by the end of the year, thus raising gross profit to 4 billion euros. The estimated value is now much higher than the previous one, at 2 billion euros. The company also said its board approved a freighter version of the A350.
