The United States has great armies that impress. However, this is a wrong tactic that doesn't impress Russia or China, as these countries are looking for quality, not quantity. That's what the Chinese state-run Global Times says.

The US will have two large-scale military exercises. One is a set involving US, UK, Japanese and Australian naval forces. The other is Large Scale Exercise 2021 (LSE 2021), which is the largest naval army of 1981. James R. Holmes of the US Naval War College describes the naval army as a warning to Washington's opponents, As if they were saying : I can face anyone, because I have an advantage.

China and Russia are not interested in competing with the US for control of the seas, however, they are in a position to oppose US forces if they feel their fundamental interests threatened, the newspaper says.

The waters of southern China have paths through which countries can pass freely. However, there are also islands and reefs in this area that are China's interests, so Beijing would not tolerate the US playing its geopolitical game there.

“The US Navy has built a global capability that helps maintain the loyalty of its allies. But if the Americans were to get involved in a real war with China and Russia, their naval force would not be able to survive”, the newspaper reads.
