Recently, Porter Airlines placed a firm order for 30 E195-E2 jets from Embraer and the right to purchase an additional 50 jets of the same model. Now, on August 5th, the companies have signed a support and services agreement. The statement was made by Embraer.
The contract is for the Total Support Program (TSP) and provides for up to 20 years of heavy airframe maintenance that Embraer will perform on the jets sold to the airline. The agreement also covers technical solutions and access to the Pool Program, which involves the exchange of components and repair services.
"This service contract with Embraer is fundamental to the operational success of Porter Airlines. At this very important moment in the airline's history, Embraer's experience and support are essential for us to start operations with the E-Jets E2, as no one knows these aircraft better than the manufacturer itself,” said Michael Delucci, President and CEO of Porter Airlines.
The first delivery of the jets to Porter Airlines, as well as entry into service, is expected to take place in 2022. Embraer Aircraft Customer Services (EAACS) is expected to provide Pool Program services in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Heavy maintenance services will be provided by Embraer Aircraft Maintenance Services (EAMS) in Nashville, Tennessee.
“With this agreement, we have expanded and deepened our relationship with Porter Airlines. Embraer will provide all the necessary support long before the airline begins operations with the world's most efficient single-aisle aircraft, the E195-E2. We are very proud of the confidence that Porter has placed in Embraer's services and look forward to starting our work together soon,” said Johann Bordais, President and CEO of Embraer Serviços
