According to a survey carried out by the Brazilian Airline Association (ABEAR) based on data from ANAC, domestic flights by national airlines registered an increase in August for the fourth consecutive month, reaching 70% (average of 1,680 daily departures) of the offer of flights in March 2020, in the period before the pandemic.

This is the second best result since the beginning of the pandemic, just behind the month of January 2021, when the offer of flights reached 75% of the pre-pandemic period.

Eduardo Sanovicz, president of ABEAR, comments: “We have reached the fourth consecutive month of growth, showing that vaccination against Covid-19 is influencing demand growth in the airline industry. Immunization is advancing, with most people over 18 years of age already immunized with the first dose in several locations. The arrival of the vaccine to more audiences is essential for us to maintain this escalation in numbers”.

Data are from Pan Rotas.
