Starting in November this year, all Gol Linhas Aéreas employees will need to be immunized against covid-19. Brazilian airline professionals have been included in the priority group for immunization against covid since June this year. Thus, around 80% of Gol employees have already taken at least the first dose of the vaccine.
“As a Brazilian company committed to safety since its first takeoff, Gol has looked forward, with high expectations, to the availability of vaccines for all Brazilians. Once offered, they are proven to be the most effective way to protect life and control the pandemic. The significant decrease in the number of cases, especially in the most severe forms of disease manifestation, is directly related to the advance of vaccination. The Company, therefore, vehemently encourages the adhesion of its employees, customers and society as a whole to the PNI (National Immunization Program)”, the company highlighted in a statement.
The company reinforces that exceptional cases of employees who cannot be immunized will be evaluated individually.
"The creation of this new safety requirement at Gol is a reinforcement and improvement of the other protocols established by the company since the beginning of the pandemic, which are rigorous, reliable, certified and proven to be effective. Awareness and understanding of the importance of vaccination they are fundamental for the restoration of collective well-being", says Gol's CEO, Paulo Kakinoff.
Gol was the first Brazilian company to require the use of masks, both for customers and employees on board. However, the vaccine must come together as one more way to fight the disease.
"The vaccine is, today, our greatest asset to fight the disease in the Country and guarantee the Safety of our Team, of the Customers who choose to fly with Gol, of our families and friends and of the community as a whole", reinforces dr . Mário José Mello Martins, occupational physician and manager of People and Culture at Gol.
