The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) granted Airport Operational Certification to Santarém Airport – Maestro Wilson Fonseca, in Pará. The certification, which is required by the Brazilian Civil Aviation Regulation (RBAC), was published in the Official Gazette of the Union last Thursday, 26th of August.

The criteria determined for obtaining the certificate are defined by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which guides the assessments that airports must undergo. The criteria are applied worldwide.

Certification also determines which types of aircraft can operate at the airport and in which periods. Santarém Airport will be able to receive any aircraft compatible with the reference code 4C or lower, and the aircraft can operate in the day and night periods.

Lucival Cordeiro Júnior, superintendent of Santarém Airport, says that receiving the certification means that the airport meets the best international standards of infrastructure and security. “This achievement is the result of the work and dedication of all airport employees. It also demonstrates Infreaero's commitment to complying with current regulations and with the efficiency of airport operations”, he declares.
