Gol and Voepass, in a meeting with the Chief Minister of the Civil House, Ciro Nogueira, spoke about the start of their operations on routes in the interior of the country, which have great growth potential. The routes in question are between São Luís and Barreirinhas, in addition to Teresina and Parnaíba and Fortaleza to Jericoacoara.
Sales will be carried out by Gol, while flights will be operated by Voepass. Flights are scheduled to start on December 5th, with a frequency of five times a week, on Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
There are still regulatory hurdles such as related costs that companies will face.
“We are going to take the necessary measures, with the Federal Government and the three states (Ceará, Maranhão and Piauí), so that we can consolidate these new routes and other opportunities for this region to receive more visitors. I am sure that we will have good results with this gesture that companies are making. Here is my thanks on behalf of the federal government”, said minister Ciro Nogueira.
Studies on the feasibility of the new routes had already started before the pandemic, but were stopped due to the health crisis. “Shortly before the pandemic, we started talking about this Rota das Emoções project and now we are going to start operations. It's never too late for us to put our internal tourism on our feet”, highlighted José Luis Felício Filho, president of Voepass.
The president of Abear also spoke about the topic: "With this, there is the possibility of fostering the sustainability of national companies, increasingly enabling the development of regional routes and competitiveness with international companies," said Eduardo Sanovicz, president of Abear.
