During the month of July, Gol Linhas Aéreas presented a monthly increase of more than 50% in traffic indicators, compared to the month of June. This increase was due to the mid-year holiday season, which boosted demand. However, preliminary data for the month of August, released on Monday (6), show that in August, the company suffered a retraction.
Even so, the results for August are still higher than those for June. That way, without the holiday effect, you can compare more accurately. And it is important to note that the company's operations were reduced in the last ten days of the month to carry out the migration of its passenger service system to Saber Systems.
In August, the total number of take-offs registered by Gol was 11,223, which represents a reduction of 11.5% in relation to the month of July, which registered 12,677 departures. However, August takeoffs still represent a 36% increase compared to June 2021.
Despite this, compared to the same month of 2019, in the pre-pandemic period, this value represents only a 50.6% recovery over the 22,168 take-offs recorded in August 2019.
As for the occupancy rate of the company's flights, in August it was 80.2%; in July, 84.5% and in August 2019, 82.3%.
In August, the company transported a total of 1.478 million passengers. In July, this number was 1.858 million and in June, 1.210 million. In August 2019, there were 3.145 million.
Given that Gol has not resumed any international flights until the end of August, this data refers to the Brazilian domestic market.
