Airbus announced, in a report, that it delivered 40 aircraft in August, bringing its year-to-date deliveries to 384. The company's goal is to reach 600 aircraft delivered by the end of the year.

On the other hand, this number represents a small drop in aircraft delivery compared to July, when 47 aircraft were delivered, compared to 40 in August.

The company's data this Tuesday (7) show that 269 sales were made in total this year, 132 of which after cancellations. 28 narrowbody jets were sold to Latam.

The data also show a very significant increase in orders for new aircraft for the European manufacturer: 102 new orders in August, compared to 2 new orders in July. Much of this order was from Delta Airlines, which ordered 30 A321neo aircraft.

The European manufacturer remains ahead of American rival Boeing, which is still trying to recover from the problems it had with its jets, especially the suspension of operations of the 737 MAX. Other problems also weighed on Boeing's lower results, such as the recent interruption of negotiations for up to 250 737 MAX 10 jets to Ryanair due to a price difference.

On the other hand, Boeing remains ahead of Airbus when it comes to the number of new orders.

It is worth remembering that Airbus data also confirmed sales of 36 aircraft of the A321neo model for Jet2, a Boeing customer.
