During yesterday's Air Force Association annual Air, Space, and Cyber ""Conference, Boeing introduced the concept of the LRAAM, the weaponry known as a long-range air-to-air missile.

According to The Drive portal, the missile has a two-stage configuration with a "death vehicle" attached to a reinforcement section that collapses after being burned, a configuration that has already been seen in some US concepts.

The missile's propellant is by rocket engines. The weapon's settings promise to make it reach greater speeds and ranges. The missile is still in the development phase, with a focus on improving propulsion with rocket engines or breathing engines such as ramjets. The missile must use two engines, one in the rear section to give it an initial boost and one in the front to lift and propel the weaponry for the rest of the flight.

The US Air Force had previously said that the F-15EX Eagle II needed a long-range air-to-air missile. The design of this missile is still at an early stage, so not much is known about it. However, this may be the missile the Air Force seeks for the fighter.
