Eve Urban Air Mobility, the Embraer company responsible for developing eVTOL, has just taken another important step. The latest development, in partnership with Bristow Group Inc, a vertical flight solutions company, was an announcement of an agreement to develop an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) for Eve's eVTOL. authorized by regulatory authorities to operate the aircraft.
The memorandum of understanding is aimed at developing an operational model for Urban Air Mobility (UAM) with Bristow, which has more than 70 years of knowledge and experience in this area. The partnership will focus on vertiport development, aircraft design, regulatory development for operations and autonomous operating system. In addition, Bristow has placed an order for up to 100 eVTOLs with deliveries expected to begin in 2026.
“We are honored that Bristow has chosen our eVTOL platform, and together our teams will develop the robust structures and operations necessary to create an affordable, scalable, sustainable and secure UAM industry,” said Andre Stein, President and CEO of Eve .
The companies intend to utilize existing Air Traffic Management systems, as well as new unmanned aircraft and unmanned traffic management systems.
Chris Bradshaw, President and CEO of Bristow, says Eve's eVTOL has the potential to reshape the vertical flight market with zero carbon emissions and low operating costs.
“This allows us to expand our expertise to provide a sustainable, innovative and efficient option in new potential end markets. We can leverage our operational expertise, through cooperation with Eve, to design and build the next generation of aircraft that fully utilize the many advantages of eVTOLs,” said the CEO of Bristow.
