Posts expand cargo transport by plane for greater convenience

The post office completed the first in a series of air freight contracts. The new change means that cargo can be transported in aircraft holds on regular commercial flights.
In May of this year, the e-Certame took place, the contracting that made the change possible. The e-Certame enables the registration and prior qualification of cargo carriers throughout the country. The company guarantees greater transparency, security and agility through the platform.
With this project, the couriers think big. The idea is to increase cargo capacity by air mode by 50% or more within the next year.
Customers will gain too, while platform deliveries can be faster. The services provided may go further, as the coverage area will be expanded and the portfolio's coverage in more restricted regions will also be greater.
The postal service began operations this Wednesday, September 22, for the round-trip stretches between Belém (PA) and Macapá (AP).
