The German company Lufthansa Cargo, which will soon withdraw the McDonnell Douglas MD-11 trimotor from its fleet, has been preparing several tributes to its historic jet before retiring it, such as the farewell held at the end of last year, when I used it. of the model was closed for flights in Brazil. At the time, the tribute had the baptism of water jets from Firefighters' trucks.
After retirement in Brazil, some units continued to be used on other routes, to other countries. However, the fleet has been gradually retired since then, and today there is only one model in operation, registered under the registration D-ALCC, which will also be retired soon.
And one of the honors carried out by the company to commemorate the more than 20 years of operation of the cargo aircraft is the virtual tour, which allows you to visit the aircraft inside and out.
The new functionality is available on the website. It is possible to rotate the view in any direction at each of the various points available inside and outside the aircraft, and it is also possible to access technical information about the aircraft by clicking on red marked dots.
In the lower left corner of the screen, there is also a menu that shows all the options available to be viewed and visited.
Check out the virtual tour at the link below.
