São Paulo was the most sought after national destination in August, says Viajanet

According to travel agency Viajanet, the airports of Guarulhos, Recife and Congonhas were the most popular national destinations in August, representing respectively 8.5%, 6.8% and 5.9% of demand. Then came the airports of Rio de Janeiro (Santos Dumond - 5.7%), Porto Alegre (5.4%), Salvador (5.2%), Fortaleza (5%), Brasília (4.9%) , Curitiba (2.6%) and Florianópolis (2.5%).
As for international flights, Mexico was the most sought after destination by Brazilians, with Cancun in first place (13.6%), followed by Mexico City (7.3%). Then Madrid (5%), Lisbon (4.8%), Paris (4.7%), Orlando (4.7%), Santiago (1.9%), Barcelona (1.5%) and Buenos Aires (1.4%).
In relation to passengers, women are the majority, representing more than 60% of purchases, while men represent almost 40%. As for the age group, young people between 25 and 34 years old were the ones who traveled the most in the month of August, representing more than 31%. Then come the 18-24 age groups, with more than 20%; aged 35-44 years, with more than 18%; and 45-54 years, with more than 13%. The 55-64% profile represents 10%, and the over 65 age group represents a little more than 6%.
São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro were the destinations that sold the most tickets, with 18% and 6% respectively. Then come Salvador and Recife, both with 6%. Porto Alegre was in fifth place, with 5%. As for international destinations, Cancun and Lisbon lead with 11% each. Then, Porto (6%), Rome (3%) and New York (3%).
