Latam will resume and expand operations between Brazil and Chile

Latam announced the expansion of the operation of the São Paulo (Guarulhos)-Santiago route and the resumption of the direct Rio de Janeiro (Galeão)-Santiago flight as of November this year. The announcement came after Chile's decision to authorize, as of October, the entry of Brazilian tourists who have been fully vaccinated against Covid.
The route between RIOgaleão and Santiago had been suspended since April 2020 and will be the first international route taken up by Latam in Brazil outside Guarulhos Airport.
However, the company advises passengers to check the Requirements for Traveling on its website, which explains the rules and requirements of the Chilean government for the entry of fully vaccinated Brazilians.
Diogo Elias, Sales and Marketing director at Latam in Brazil, says that “with the advance of vaccination and the relaxation of rules for traveling abroad, Brazilians are increasingly confident in scheduling their trips. In addition, international flights, such as Santiago-Rio de Janeiro, also represent opportunities for foreigners to return to visit the country”.
Until December this year, Latam will offer 18 weekly flights between São Paulo (Guarulhos) and Santiago. Currently, the company offers ten weekly frequencies for this route. The aircraft that operate this route are the Airbus A320, which can carry up to 170 passengers, or the Boeing 787, which can carry up to 304 passengers.
As for the Rio de Janeiro (Galeão)-Santiago route, there will be three weekly flights starting in November, in Airbus A320 aircraft.
