British airline Jet2 announced last Tuesday, October 5, the purchase of another 15 Airbus A321neo aircraft, valued at $2 billion at current list prices.
The company had already placed a first order with Airbus in August, when it booked 36 aircraft, with the possibility of adding another 60 aircraft. As a result, Jet2 broke its allegiance to Boeing.
The company said the additional aircraft are expected to be delivered between 2026 and 2029, with terms of the agreement similar to those of the order in August. In addition, Jet2 said it has negotiated substantial discounts from the last order's list price, which will be financed by a combination of internal resources and debt.
