Before the pandemic, Airbus had said it would deliver the last unit of the A380 later this year. Now, the date is approaching, with the last two units of the iconic superjumbo being operated by Emirates.
The president of Emirates said, in an interview: "We will receive the last A380 in November and December." Clark made another mention of the superjumbo during an IATA summit, where he criticized the Boeing 777X's schedule and said delivery of the last A380 will be delayed by a month.
With the deliveries, Emirates will have 118 A380 units in its fleet, after taking five units of the operating model.
Thus, Airbus will end the production and delivery cycle of the giants, and the factory has already been closed. Also, a ceremony will take place on the date of delivery of the aircraft at Airbus, in Hamburg, Germany.
