In search of more security and compliance with the recommendations of the GADSS (Global System for Security and Aeronautical Relief), Embraer signed an agreement with SKYTRAC Systems and ACR Electronics for companies to supply the newly arrived technologies of ADT (Autonomous Distress Tracking) ) and ELD – DT (Emergency Locator Transmitter with Distress Tracking).

The operational requirements and ICAO recommendations for GADSS start to take effect in January 2023, and Embraer will be able to meet this deadline with the new agreement.

The technologies make it possible to track and track aircraft in dangerous situations, so they provide airlines' Rescue Coordination Centers (RCC) and Operational Control Centers (OCC) with all accurate tracking and location of the aircraft. Thus, the devices can even help to avoid a dangerous situation. In addition to being installed on new jets prior to delivery, the systems will also be installed on existing E2 jets.

The ACR group, the company responsible for SKYTRAC and ACR Electronics, claims that the technology is a complete solution for meeting GADSS requirements. These recommendations even come in response to the loss of Malaysia Airlines 370 and Air France 447.

The device can capture aircraft parameters such as position, altitude and other critical system data. When there is a potential danger situation, the system is activated automatically and transmits distress messages in real time at 406 MHz. Pilots can manually activate the ELT (Emergency Locator Transmitters) if necessary.
