CEO of Latam becomes president of ALTA's Executive Committee

During the Annual General Assembly of Alta (Association of Latin America and the Caribbean of Air Transport) that took place in Bogotá last Sunday, October 24, the new president of the Executive Committee of the Association was announced: Roberto Alvo, the CEO of Grupo Latam , whose mandate has already entered into force and will last for one year. The event was attended by 28 member airlines.
Previously, Alvo had previously held the positions of Commercial Vice President, Senior Vice President International and Alliances, Manager of Development and Financial Planning at Lan Airlines (currently Latam), Director of Administration and Finance at Lan Argentina, and Vice Financial Manager from Lan Airlines.
José Ricardo Botelho, Alta's CEO, said: “I am pleased to welcome on board as President of Alta's Executive Committee, Roberto Alvo, CEO of Latam Airlines, who has served as Vice President of this committee since 2020. Roberto is an extraordinary leader and has always shown great support for Alta. I am sure that this flight that takes off today will be full of positive initiatives for the association, the industry and our region”.
Alvo commented: “I am very honored with the position I am taking at Alta. The times we are living in, with a pandemic that is not over and accelerating climate change, demand important responsibilities from us. I am convinced that the collaborative work between all of us who are part of the aeronautical industry will allow us to seek solutions that will lead us to be more sustainable in the long term. We have a strategic role as an industry and my commitment is to help in this direction”.
