On Friday, October 22, an Airbus A320neo from Arab airline Jazeera Airways was flying from Kuwait City to London, when it lost communication with air traffic controllers. The reason for the loss of communication was not known.

Two Luftwaffe (German Air Force) Eurofighter fighters went to the last contact site to investigate what was happening, as it could mean some dangerous situation, such as loss of consciousness of the crew, or even a hijacking of the aircraft.

As the fighters accelerated to their destination, sonic booms were heard by civilians on the ground in Rhein-Main, Frankfurt's metropolitan region. Sonic boom is the loud noise that an airplane makes when it overcomes the sound barrier.

Although not uncommon, and even standard procedure in case of loss of communication with commercial aircraft, this fact left people on the ground scared.

Finally, communication between the A320neo pilots and the flight controllers was re-established, and there was no accident. However, it is not known the reason for the loss of communication, which could have been a technical failure, or even a human error.
