Eve, the Embraer subsidiary responsible for developing the eVTOL, will run an Urban Air Mobility (UAM) test. The chosen location will be Rio de Janeiro, on November 8th.

The test will be done using a helicopter, in order to validate the entire UAM ecosystem already developed. The test will last for a month, with six daily flights. The cost will be more affordable than flying a conventional helicopter.

The flights, which will be monitored by government entities such as ANAC, consider values ""close to what an electric aircraft flight would have. Tickets started being sold today by Flapper.

“Eve's human-centric approach to development seeks that kind of practical validation of concepts and assumptions that will help us understand and address the key challenges associated with delivering the service,” said André Stein, CEO of Eve.

Eve's eVTOL is slated to hit the market in 2026.

“The simulation in Rio de Janeiro, one of the cities with the most congestion in Brazil and in the world, will help us to raise the real needs of users, partners and the community who will benefit from our mobility solutions.”
