According to Boeing, during the Commercial Market Outlook (CMO) 2021, Russia, Ukraine and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will experience an increase in demand driven by single-aisle aircraft, which will account for more than 75% of new deliveries . In all, there will be 1540 new planes, with a value of 200 billion dollars.

Counting the total of maintenance, conversions, repairs, overhauls, etc., the value comes to 320 billion dollars. Thus, the total amount will be 520 billion dollars to meet all the demand needed by the region. The region is expected to experience economic growth of 2.1% per year, as well as growth of 2.9% per year in aviation.

“Boeing stands ready to support carriers in Russia, Ukraine and the CIS as they transform their business models and seize growth opportunities,” said Randy Heisey, managing director of Boeing Commercial Marketing Russia, Ukraine and CEI
The aviation industry has suffered greatly from the pandemic, and is still suffering, so all demand indicators dropped rapidly in 2020. By contrast, demand in Russia and the region is growing very rapidly, and Boeing predicts that demand for travel will continue to rise at an accelerated rate.

More than half of the new deliveries will be just to meet the increased demand. In addition, 83,000 new employees will be needed to meet this demand. Of these, 25 thousand pilots will be needed, in addition to 25 thousand technicians and 33 thousand crew.

"Aviation is vitally important to enable robust growth in domestic tourism and a recovery in long-distance leisure travel, while supporting commercial and cargo connections across a huge geographic region."
